While She Was Dreaming was started in October of 2013 by creator and designer Alanna Gorne. Alanna resides in St. Albert, AB, Canada and is a wife and mother of 2 daughters with a passion for creativity. While She Was Dreaming started out as a hobby while she was on maternity leave with her first daughter and has now grown in to a business and labour of love.

Over time she has grown from putting together basic pieces to designing and cutting the majority of her items. She has developed a love for all things fabric and wood and now infuses those elements in to all of her pieces.

In each new collection, all wooden pieces are designed, on computer using Corel Draw, by Alanna and then laser cut in studio. When buying from While She Was Dreaming you can be confident that the majority of supplies are sourced right here in Canada.
